Barkley’s Apple Orchard, Morrisburg:

Barkley’s Apple Orchard is a family run orchard, just outside of Morrisburg, Ontario. We have fresh strawberries in the spring, apples in the fall and a wide range of homemade preserves to choose from!
“This farm is a responsibility,” says Bill. His family represents the seventh generation of Barkleys on the 70-acre spread. Bill previously spent ten years as an Agriculture Specialist with CUSO in Africa and several more as an Organic Inspector in Canada. Any fruit crop surplus is preserved and converted to cider, vinegar, jam, pies and a recently added delicacy, frozen strawberry coulis. A dozen bee hives on the property serve as apple tree pollinators and produce delicious Honey.

Plain Earth Farms

Plot of Earth

plotofearth picture only

We are Leah & Abe, from Plot of Earth Farm. Located between Inkerman and Winchester, our small plot of earth has under 1?4 acre in cultivation! We grow nutrient dense, tasty vegetables that are grown without the use of chemical sprays or fertilizers. We have a deep respect for the environment and our farming style reflects that. Our planting, weeding, and harvesting is done by hand or with the help of small handtools. This low tech approach is a good fit for our small scale and a good fit for soil health. We harvest as close to market day as we can manage to bring you vegetables that are at their peak.  Plot of Earth is truly excited to be offering our freshly harvested vegetables at the Kemptville Farmer’s Market and through our weekly CSA box where you can enjoy local, quality vegetables every week. We believe strongly in growing and promoting local food and hope to connect with you this season.
