The Market Opens on May 27 2012!
It's almost here! After a long winter hiatus, the market will open for the 2012 season on May 27, 2012 at 11am as part of the The Dandelion Festival, Kemptville's premier festival of music, arts, food and fun!
We'll be on our usual site in the parking lot at Riverside Park, open for extended hours from 11am 'til 4pm. Between your favourite products from returning vendors and some new surprises from the new faces joining us at the market this year, you're sure to find something great!
Kemptville Kinsmen Farmers’ Market Workshops:
Next Wednesday, May 16th, the third in this workshop series will take place at 7:00pm in the Program Room at the Kemptville Branch of the North Grenville Library. The workshop “Fencing: Keeping Things in and out!!” will be lead by Luke Swale of Earth’s Harvest Farm of Oxford Mills. Come on out and join us in a hands-on demonstration, followed by a question and answer period on whatever kinds of fencing might best apply to your various fencing projects.
The fourth workshop in this series will be held Wednesday, June 13th, in the same location. The workshop “Greenhouse and Field Irrigation” will be lead by Mike Bernard of Lotusland Farm of Ormond. The presentation will cover many examples of different styles of irrigation, so you can chose which one would work best for you. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and your questions about irrigation!!

One question we get asked all the time is: "Why does your market start at 2:00?" We are primarily a producers’ market, and by starting later in the day our growers (and of course all our producers of bread and baked goods) can harvest or bake in the morning so our customers get the freshest products possible. Just imagine when the products being offered for sale at markets that begin at 8:00 or 9:00 was picked/baked. We know that you will appreciate the freshness in the goods you will find at the Kemptville Kinsmen Farmers’ Market.
